Jack Thompson: Eat Your Heart Out
You may not know my agonizing hatred for Jack Thompson, but if you are even reading this, then you likely harbor a similar distaste for his baseless spew about video game violence. Here is a video that confirms what many of us already knew…

I’m doing fine, but millions of gamers obviously are not. I tried to warn you. Read all about it in today’s Washington Post at

I appreciate your interest in my blog Mr. Thompson but you will have to excuse me if I am a little skeptical of the validity of your claim to being Jack Thompson. To contradict this study, I am an avid gamer, and I spend copious amounts of time on my computer. However, I have never done drugs, am an honor society student, and have been published for my writing in my local (city-wide, not some penny-saver) newspaper. Every gamer I know seems to contradict these studies. I think we can both agree that young children should be protected from violent video games, but aside from stricter rules on underage persons purchasing video games, the bulk of the responsibility lies with the parents. Companies who develop and market the games should not be held accountable for the actions of irresponsible and oftentimes disturbed children who, prior to playing these games, had severe issues. I work at a game store, and I am proud to say that I ask anyone who doesn’t look like Santa for an ID when they purchase mature titles. Video Games are an advent of interactive entertainment, and the movement to silence or stop them is a movement to silence the voice of a generation. Video Games are here to stay, however many people (such as yourself) see them as a way for big companies to “molest minors for money”. How could they do this when the game is not to be sold to anyone under the age of 17?
While I appreciate the zeal you have for your cause, I must point out that, having been barred from practicing law, the courts of America do not agree with your practices, and the rest of America does not agree with your cause. You are fighting a losing battle, pardon me, you have already lost the battle. Please put your talents to good use somewhere other than stopping “Video Game Violence” because it will not bring about any change.
Sincerely,
FBTVC
